Our Möbius loop, comprising the words 'Touching my heart she said, one day we will all be on the same side' unfurls in a beguilling, non-orientable surface, bringing to mind that despite our separate lives, we are unified in our final fate.
The talisman, in bronze or as an edition of 10 in silver, is the latest in a body of work which blurs the boundaries of traditional creative categories; exploring multi-layered narratives, philosophies and sacred ideas in a contemporary object form
Cast in bronze or as an edition of 10 in silver, the sculpture takes the shape of a möbius loop – a unique and extraordinary geometry that has only one edge, one side, and no beginning or end.
15 words fold upon each other, and set within this magical shape, they take on the quality of an alchemical invocation: “Touching my heart she said, one day we will all be on the same side”.
The talisman is a reminder that despite our separate lives we are unified in our final fate. The möbius proves too, that even in a life on earth which defines itself through binary opposites, we can indeed be as one. It is mathematical proof that we can all be on one side. It encourages that the space between the edges might be valued as much as the extremes themselves.
